First Acorn Headteacher Conference
Back
On Friday 3rd November the first Acorn Headteacher Conference session was held at Heywood House in Westbury.
Headteachers from all of Acorn’s school settings, both primary and secondary, came together to look at how to ensure that decision making at every level is driven through the lens of SEND and disadvantaged pupils. Ensuring equality is built-in to all Acorn settings is a top priority for the Trust and it was wonderful to see how engaged and collaborative all the attendees were over the whole day.
We were delighted to welcome Chris Lubbe, Nelson Mandela’s former bodyguard and internationally acclaimed speaker to deliver a keynote speech to the assembled Headteachers. Drawing on his incredible story of resistance against ‘apartheid’, Chris took the attendees on a spell-binding journey of self-discovery and helped inspire all to bring about change in their own lives.
Thank you to Chris for joining us and to all the Headteachers for helping kick off the first Acorn Headteacher conference so successfully.
