The Executive Chef, Joel Deverill will meet with the Headteacher to discuss catering provider options.

 Joel Deverill oversees two kitchen teams. One based at Kingdown School which provides food, snacks and drinks to over 2000 students and staff. The second kitchen is based at New Close Primary School and is our new purpose built production kitchen. Built in August 2018 the production kitchen is used to cater for seven primary schools, serving approximately 600 meals a day. Menus are based around seasonal produce from local suppliers. We have a main meal, a vegetarian option and pudding as well catering for any allergen needs.


Joel spends his time between both kitchens ensuring the quality of food is kept consistent. He also visits the primary schools that order our lunches where he talks with the school’s student councils. Speaking to the school councils is vital for the students and for Joel; it creates a link between the two to discuss menu items, such as what they would like to see on or off the menu.
